As the ORS relies entirely on event fees to pay for its events, we have added an option to our payments where you may donate $5 or $10 in addition to your workshop fee if you choose to. It is entirely optional.

What's going on?

The ORS has gone through a transition of leadership, and we are working on getting all of our social media and web material to be consistent and synchronized with one another. But this is requiring more time than we anticipated. Meanwhile, we want to make sure that members, on and off Facebook (which has acted as our primary source of interaction with members) to have access to all events, and also, we need a place to offer payment options for workshops and whatnot, that do not cost the group or its members additional money to use.

So here we are. I will be attempting to synchronize our posts on the Facebook page to this blogger so that non-facebook users can see what's going on. But we are going to try to spread across a number of social media sites so that there's a broader spectrum of communication from us to you.

I am Stephanie Johanesen. I am the founder of the ORS and as of August-ish, I reclaimed the reins of the organization, and with the help of the most reliable and creative people, hope to resume the ORS's activities to the levels we enjoyed in the past.  ORS is going on its twelfth year coming 2019, and we hope to bring back our strong legacy events, and add some new delights to our traditional offerings.

There will be lots of workshops on offer, from costume to dance, and we are starting with those as we get the ball rolling. We are tentatively planning for an early spring ball, as well as a possible retreat at the end of next year.

We are striving to make our events affordable to all, and centralizing them for maximum participation. So, for those of you who are former members, and those of you who are new, please be welcomed to the group. We do not exact a membership fee, we are open to all participants, and we do not vet or impose any blanket requirements when it comes to costume, accuracy or participation.
